The Cure for a Rainy Day

"Contentment"  48 x 52"

It's dark and dreary outside, but inside I played with blocks from my "parts department."

This quilt practically jumped onto the wall!

The words are from Tonya Ricucci's book, Word Play Quilts.

The hst's are from the lovely gals over at Two's Company.

The other blocks are leftovers from various quilts.

OK, now back to holiday gift-making.

Isn't it good to be able to put a whole lot of things together? Are there a few of your left over eyelash blocks in the corners of the word blocks? They look familiar. How did your new work space feel?

I'll say it again here.....I love this! And those fan blocks rounding out the corners is perfect!

LeeAnn,
Those hsts look so pretty. Specially that little one in the bottom left corner!
You did great playing with all the parts from the parts department.

Did you seriously make this in an afternoon?? Even with all the parts, it would take my hours to even start!! Great job.

I love your Virtues quilts! So much nicer than 4-letter words -- not that there's anything wrong with that. Just, well, nicer.

You really know how to make a quilt SHINE!

I love the corners and I'm so happy to see more of your great words. I can't believe this was in the Parts Dept. I don't even have one of those and yet, you had a whole quilt in yours! ;-)

Lucky you to have a 'parts' dept.:) I have been cataloguing my project dept. and I have about 27 projects for a rainy day....I hope it rains a lot this winter!

Great quilt that interprets nicely the red/green colors for the holiday season. Loved seeing your studio as well. Maybe someday I'll get to see it in person?
Keep up the holiday spirit!
best, nadia

Whoa, how fun is this?!?!?!?!?! It's so joyous - great reflection of the holiday season. :) Love all that lime green in there too - your parts department has excellent inventory! (or at least it did!) Happy Holidays!

How impressive that you can put this together in an afternoon!

Do you have a "word" parts department too or did you put those together for this quilt?

So cheerful and an inspirational reminder to see on a wall.

Makes me feels like it is time for a fiesta. If that doesn't cheer up a dreary day, then it can't be done. You are a master of creativity.

love it so much! the different shades of green in the HST's really works. you are sooo talented. maybe you need to make some more virtuous words so that you can continue on with the orphan block virtues quilts. love love love.

fabulous! so lively and fun, and virtuous! I've found that improv quilts like this just go together quickly -- jump onto the design wall like they were meant to be. great finish! and I think you should buy the rest of your gifts and just play some more with your spare quilt parts!

So cheerful! Lovely colors!! Funny how some quilts come together quickly - and others don't. This one was meant to be. Love it!
