Summer vacation came late this year. I've been at the Oregon Coast. |
Adding to my heart rock collection. This one's kind of Cubist, don't you think? |
This is one of my favorite attractions. No, I didn't get my fortune told. |
I had the perfect project for the long car ride and for sitting on the beach. |
It will make a great beach blanket, once it's finished. |
How do you like this? The ultimate in recycling. Of course, it's an inspiration for a new quilt. |
And I found a great bunch corduroy for the next project! |
Looks like you had a terrific time. A new beach quilt, (love it) and corduroy too. What more can a girl ask for.

ReplyDeleteYour heart rock collection sounds so much fun. Okay, I am going to be one of those quilters and ask, "Are you serious about using that hand quilted one as a beach blanket?" :)
Love the buttons in the centers of the blocks.
Happy Quilting!

ReplyDeleteLovely on all fronts... P.S. I'm with Sujata on the beach blanket query!

ReplyDeleteMy friend collects heart shaped rocks too.....I'm amazed at how many I see.
Love the beach anytime, anywhere,

Happy Sewing
Your quilt is looking so good on the beautiful beach. I love the way you are quilting it. Those soft, almost faded colors are very very beautiful in that setting. (But it's to pretty for wear and tear, honestly...)
ReplyDeleteYou inspire me!
Looks like a lovely time! SO glad you are enjoying a break- and a beautiful quilt!
ReplyDeleteLooks so peaceful! I'm loving all y our hand quilting on the quilt. Even the pooch got to go! ;-)
ReplyDeleteQuilt looks GREAT on the beach! So glad you guys could use the house...lamps all working well...xo. B
ReplyDeleteYour beach quilt is terrific. The colors are just so "beachy". Love the recycled boats. I'm not sure I could using corduroy. Maybe a good challenge for the retreat in the spring. Bonnin
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a lovely, relaxing time. Good for you! (Though I am a bit jealous.)
ReplyDeleteEager to see what you do with your corduroys!
Fun inspiration photo of the boats! Like the white corduroy too...really changes up the texture!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great visit to the beach! I love your quilt - the quilting is wonderful on it. And I had to go look twice after Sujata's comment about the buttons, as I didn't see them the 1st time.
ReplyDeleteI was gifted with some corduroy (yardage and scraps!) on Fri. and Sat., so I might join you in the corduroy quilt-making!
I love your beach quilt and in it's perfect setting too. I try to rfind heart shaped stones but with no luck.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing more relaxing or energizing than our Oregon coast..well, except maybe my Alaskan one ;) But I love going there with a quilt and chillin' in most senses of the word. Great fun and lovely quilt and dog!!!
ReplyDeleteForgot to add...I've collected heart shaped rocks from every where I've ever been. People started saving them for me, and then I got them saving them for them. They are so magical!
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt.
