Quilt Show

There's a quilt show going on in Salem, Oregon, curated by Bonnie Hull.  I'm honored to have two quilts in the show.  It helps to have a relative as the curator!  I really appreciate Bonnie for showing quilts as serious ART in an actual ART gallery.  I didn't take photos of everything, as they asked us not to.  But I sneaked a few of my favorites.

  3. Quilts are often more striking than many paintings, they are worth displaying in an art gallery!
Your quilt inspired by Anna is #1 for me, and I like "Buffy" nearby also very much, they are nice together.
I am happy to see a close pic from Andrea Bulosky's liberated Bento box, the stunning thing is the effect made by the 4 centers. Very inspiring !

  7. Oh, LeeAnn!
I wish I could have seen all these quilts in the gallery there. Although I have seen yours and Buffy's quilts in person, (They are even more fantastic in person) I can not imagine how striking they all must look in the gallery space. Andrea's quilt is making me want to go through my scraps and strings again!
Bonnie's quilts are gorgeous. Love the texture her hand quilting has created.
Thank you for sharing the pictures :)

  14. What a tantalizing sneak peek. I only wish that I were able to view them in person hanging in the gallery. Guess I'll have to start looking for a cheap flight just to see such a fabulous show of a lifetime. Thanks so much for sharing. They are all treasures

  17. Thanks for showing those amazing art quilts (including yours). I know the Bush Barn well having grown up in Salem and having studied art there, so I'm glad to see that they've put up this show. (small world, isn't it?) I'll be in that neck of the woods in March or April--pity they can't make the show last until then. Drat!
And thanks for your nice comment on my blog.
    best, nadia

  20. Wish I could be at the show. Apart from knowing some of the names and recognising some of the quilts in the show, it seems like a thoroughly modern affair. So many show have traditional quilts but these ones are more like works of art. Congratulations on having yours showing alongside so many other talented creators.

  26. What a joy for all these quilts to hang-out in such an enthusiastic assembly! I can only imagine that we too would be fast-friends in person, bound together by threads of many colors. Thanks for the tour. Lovinʻ it from afar! And I learned something too: Bento Box. I never knew this block name, although I am oh-so familiar with the lunch! Bless this connectivity, technical and existential!
