I spent the week working on a "little challenge" over at 15 minutes play.
Victoria sent a 12" square of the floral and plaid fabric, and asked us to make something "small."
So here's what happened on my design wall last week. It became an obsession!
Done!
"Obsession" 61 x 61"
Very nice. Thanks for giving us a peek inside the auditioning process.
ReplyDeleteThat was so fun to watch your process. Love the finished product!
ReplyDeleteditto on the process. I like how you used that challenge fabric to offset the brights. Most of the others used it as a focal point, but I really like how that brownish red plays off the brights.
ReplyDeleteLove watching the process.
ReplyDeleteI HAVE to explore this method!
(so much for small) :-)
So lovely! I enjoy seeing the process. Isn't that the most fun?
ReplyDeleteWow... love seeing the progression photos of this wonderful piece! It really rocks! Love it!

ReplyDeleteI love seeing the audition process! And the finished quilt turned out great--so many colors I wouldn't have thought of/dared. Nice job!!!
ReplyDeleteSo much fun getting a glimpse into your working process! You always inspire me to think 'bolder' and step out of my little tiny box when it comes to buying fabric! Love what you ended up with. Truly a fun looking quilt.:)

ReplyDeleteLove this. Glad you kept working your way through - that was so much fun to follow. I never remember to keep my camera handy until it is too late... Something to learn. Thanks, "Teach!". (Smile) - Kathy
ReplyDeleteLove the process and even more that you stopped at the dots and floral that I said "Ahhh" to!
ReplyDeleteLove this thanks for showing your steps to a great finish. I think that if you have more of your last border print you could start another challenge.
ReplyDeleteI love it Nifty, and like others, I loved seeing the process you went through to arrive at the gorgeous finish! Wonderful. xo
ReplyDeleteSo fun to watch your different options! Love all the angles in your made fabric and the medallion - great combination. The colors are warm and inviting... Congratulation on a lovely challenge top!

Small? Unless you give me actual size limits I would have done the same! Turning a fat quarter into a beautiful, fun, small 61 x61 piece is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this process photographically. Glad to know others out there work this way.
ReplyDeleteThere could not be a better obsession than that!! Great job...
