I intended to spend the rest of the year quilting flimsies and finishing other projects.
Then Mary posted this Flowering Snowball Quilt Along, and I just couldn't stop thinking about it.
I thought it'd be a great opportunity to use my retro ditsies that have been on the shelf for years.
That's finishing something. Right?
I ordered the templates here. My blocks are 9" finished.
So far, I've only cut them, and I'm having a wonderful time.
So there's my summer project.
And here's my summer companion, with her new haircut.
What a great looking quilt. I love your fabric choices, and the big stitch quilting done on the sample is right up your alley. Give your summer partner and scratch from me, he's so cute.
ReplyDeletecool. makes me want to dig into my fabrics and try that block.
ReplyDeleteGo Nifty! I love your fabric choices. I'm joining in the QAL too. How cute is your lovely companion, such a sweet smile.
ReplyDeleteOhhhhh! Your snowball is definitely flowering! I love it! This pattern is perfect with those prints! And your companion is adorable!
ReplyDeletePerfect fabrics for the blocks.
ReplyDeleteLook at you speeding ahead! I look at your fabrics and just sigh in envy. I have obviously been shopping in the wrong stores the last several years.:)
ReplyDeleteLove your fabric choices! Looking forward to seeing all put together. And how cute is your quilty companion!! What breed of dog?
ReplyDeleteGorgeous blocks and it's going to be a beautiful quilt! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThis looks lovely (and a bit scary, too, with all the curved seams ; ) )
ReplyDeleteNow I am so tempted to have a go....
Give your cute companion a good scratch behind the ears from me. She is the sweetest!
I couldn't resist joining the quilt along! I love this pattern and can't wait to begin.
ReplyDeleteAwww, love your pup AND your project. A summerful of fun!!!
ReplyDeletehow fun! your fabrics will make a great version of this quilt. Curved piecing? you're brave! I love your pups brown nose, what a sweet girl!
ReplyDeleteI am drooling over your fabric choices. What a perfect project for summer. I am tempted!
ReplyDeleteI just read Barb's comment about your pup.. I am naming her chocolate
:)
Love it! You always choose just the right fabrics for your quilts!
ReplyDeleteOh, my stars! Yours is the first that I have seen with so many blocks side by side and I am in Love! I so do not need to begin another quilt but yours is so tempting!!
ReplyDeleteWell we all benefit visually when you get obsessed with a new project! Love your fabrics and your sweet pup's milk chocolate nose:)
ReplyDeleteIt looks already very bright and happy with those fabrics. I just saw this pattern (as a top in the quiltshop) with the white in the middle and the colored fabrics as petals. It looked like flowers. But I like your version, it has a little less white this way. You have a very cute dog. It seems to me she (or he) is happy to be your companion.
