Flowering Snowball is Quilted!

Flowering Snowball  90" x 99"

I've been trying to quilt all my recent quilt tops myself,
but this one was just too big for me to handle.

Thanks to the talented Sharon and her long-arm machine, this one is DONE!

I love the stitching she did--fresh, yet traditional--just the look I wanted.

I made the top last summer, in a quilt-along with Molly Flanders blog.

I used up most of my retro look fabrics,
and threw in a few large prints to add variety.

In the end, I just had to add more contrast.
Luckily, I found this Anna Maria Horner fabric on sale for the back.
Voila!

You can see more Flowering Snowball quilts from
last summer's quilt-along here.

  4. Lovely finish. It reminds me of my "summer snow" another take on snowball design using scrappy nine-patches.

  6. Just gorgeous! The fabric and colors makes it a very happy quilt. I have tried a few of these beautiful blocks myself. It takes dedication to make a quilt this size! I think this is a perfect, romantic summer quilt. And possibly a good "library" of your favorite fabrics, too... Lovely quilting. We all need a bit of help now and then.

I made two smaller versions of these in May. I love this pattern in so many ways. I hand quilted mine. It is my favorite pattern at the moment. Quick and easy and really makes a dramatic statement by just making a few changes.
