The Virtues Quilt Project


I've been meaning to try out Tonya's letters, and got the idea to make a virtues quilt. Thought I'd make a word a week, and at the end of the year have 52 for a big quilt. But these things are so fun, I've made four this week! I think they look great with this fabric I got ON CLEARANCE at Jackie's online shop.

Have you heard of the Virtues Project? They've got a list of 52 virtues, with definitions and lessons on how to teach them to your family and students. Very inspiring.

If anyone wants to play along, you can post your Virtues Quilt Project over at the Unruly Quilting blog. As my son said to me, "Changing the world, one quilt at a time."

    Great colors, letters, and motion happening with all the stripes, plaids and brights.......simply adorable!
    Kindness is my favorite virtue,,,,,,,
    what a great world we would live in if everyone practiced KINDNESS :0).

    I love anything you can leave as a positive message to the younger generation and this is a perfectly wonderful example. Very lovely in many ways.

    I love this. It'll be cool to see how the process/words evolve and what you end up with after 52 weeks. Great start. Love those clearance fabrics on Jackie's online shop too!

    I agree with Kim. I particularly like the Kindness section and how the plaids worked with out. I wasn't too inspired to piece together words until I saw that. Maybe I'll do one with all plaids. Thanks Kim!

    As you can tell, I've been pretty lax about following blogs lately, but I'm catching up on yours today. What a neat project! And a quick question, when you quilt with perle cotton, what kind of needle do you use?
