A finish, a start and a ribbon!


I finished this flimsy last night.  It's been in the works for over a year!

"Garnet Hill," 68" x 51"




Actually, it's been on my mind since I saw this folk art rug in the Garnet Hill catalog 5 years ago.




I made this block today.  It's the start of my summer scrap project.




And I won a ribbon for "Spring Equinox" at the local quilt show!  Quilted by Cindy Gilbrough.

    Congratulations on your ribbon.....I love that quilt and it deserves a ribbon for sure....you have the best color sense!

    Thanks for including the rug photo. It is very inspiring, isn't it? You did a great job with your interpretation - I love how you kept all the flowers loose and a little different. I wonder what I would do?

    Congratulations on your ribbon! I've loved Spring ever since you started working on it and it's wonderful to see it recognized as the work of art it is. Your Garnet Hill is wonderful as well. I love how the colors are spread around and the blocks so varied. I can't wait to see how you quilt it.     Who would have thought to copy a rug found in a catalog—from 2008? Garnet Hill is wonderful quilt top that so suits your quilting voice.
