Signs of Spring




I'm preparing for a 4-day retreat with Gwen Marston in June.  
We're going to make "Liberated Medallion Quilts."  

I chose this vintage Japanese yukata panel from Patricia Belyea's wonderful collection at Stashfest in LaConner last weekend.   It's a new challenge to work in a more simplistic, abstract style.  
I'm sure Gwen and the other participants will help.

    Love the fabric, I have pink snow too. I waiting for the gardner to hit my place soon, because I do not have a green thum.

    Wow! Very striking print! Love the whole selection. You have a gift with using reds I think.:) Love the signs of spring too. We're a bit behind still I think.

    Lucky, lucky you! Love the fabrics you have chosen. Can't wait to see where this goes. As for pink snow, that is pretty great too! I wish it would finally get warm enough here to see some colors outside!

    I have no doubt that you will come up with a striking medallion quilt. Enjoy the retreat and say Hi to Gwen for me.

    We could use some pink snow and other signs of Spring. The most we have here are hellebores and crocus and SLOWLY greening grass.Sigh.

    Love your focus fabric and all the pieces you have pulled out. I'm doing the same class with Gwen when she comes to Australia in July. I'm sooo excited about it but haven't decided where I'm going to start. I look forward to seeing your progress.

    Lucky you to be spending time with Gwen Marston. Your first garden looks great so far. We've been picking spinach, but its under our cold frames or it would be frozen.

    The fabrics are so wonderful. This is going to be another stunning Nifty quilt. Can't wait to see it. Enjoy the garden. There is something wonderful about grabbing fresh veggies out of your own garden. Then you add the fresh eggs from your own chickens, and you are good to go.

    I like the idea of combining commercial fabrics with yukata cottons. You are ahead of me on that so I look forward to seeing your quilt composition—especially guided by Gwen!
