It's hard to believe it's been just three years since I started blogging with this photo.
It shows my quilting room made into a "recording studio" for my son's band.
They had the brilliant idea of using quilts on the walls and windows for sound quality.
Since then, my son has moved out and left the remnants of his childhood.
I decided I needed the room for guests and the closets for my supplies, so...
A bit of sorting...
A load to the Goodwill, and...
Wa-la!
Plus an extra closet just for my quilts.
Some curtains,
A few quilts,
And I'm ready to host a quilty friend from Norway!
Happy anniversary! We celabrate 3-years the same day! Your new room looks beautiful! Have fun with your quilting friend! x Teje

Wow! Looks like a magazine photo-spread. Well done. Especially like the curtains.
ReplyDeleteThe picture of the sewing area and band equipment....too funny! Your new guest room a delight. Our daughter came home a few times so I never could take over her room with assurance I could leave it that way.
ReplyDeleteI can I come visit? Lovely. Like the pin wheel quilt on the bed.
ReplyDeleteI would like to book a night in your quilty quest room!

ReplyDeleteLovely guest room! Looks like from a decor magazine photoshoot! A closet for quilts is wonderful too. (I took over part of my daughter's closet when she left--it was nice to have some breathing room for all my UFO's)
ReplyDeleteI'm with Barb, can I make a reservation?
ReplyDeleteYeah the shrine to the kids have got to go and no need to let them think they can come back :0) Onward and forward thinking into adulthood!

What a transformation! Your guest will never leave. I hope your son was appreciative of the artistry of his sound insulation. Your quilts are much more beautiful than the empty egg cartons my husband had glued to the wall to muffle sound when we met!

ReplyDeleteFabulous room! must feel great to clean up!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing how bedrooms look with quilts on the bed. beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHow pretty! I'm only getting 'part' of my son's room to turn into my quilting room. He's supposed to pack up most of what is left over Christmas (like that's going to happen).

Sure looks different than when I was there in June. No more spaceships. It was comfy then and feels like home now.
ReplyDeleteI imagine it was a bit of a heart tug, cleaning out his room, but it always feels so good once things have moved on to a useful life with someone new to love them. And very good for you to ge to spread out -- looks like a lovely space!
ReplyDeleteHi LeeAnn,
ReplyDeleteI remember that picture very well! Can't believe it has been three years already! And, your quilts! They are spectacular in that closet and on the bed. Today is my first day back at reading blogs. And as usual, your post does not disappoint. I am not only inspired to sew but to clean and make changes. May be too soon to get rid of Kavita's stuff but there is plenty I could take to the Goodwill.
Love those curtains too. The whole room looks so warm and inviting!
xoxo
