I've been on a roll with free-motion quilting.
"Autumn Rose" 70" x 46"
The more I practice, the more I enjoy it.
Using several different designs helps to keep me entertained.
Speaking of entertainment, check out this display of holiday sweaters at the local Value Village!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Congratulations on finishing two beautiful quilts!! I really love the rust coloured edges and stripey binding on Autumn Rose. You've really taken to FMQ. It's fun looking at the different designs you've used. Did you come home with a Christmas sweater? Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving!!
ReplyDeleteWell done on your two fab finishes and for mastering free motion quilting.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilts. I love the background fabric of the scrappy coins quilt. Dramatic!
ReplyDeletegreat finishes and your quilting looks fun and your stitching looks really great.
ReplyDeleteThe sweater display is so fun!
Happy Thanksgiving
Lovely free motion quilting on these--I still haven't even tried it...just getting into straight line quilting with a walking foot! Hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteStep away from the sweaters! (though I did see someone repurposing them into skirts -- pretty cute)
ReplyDeleteAutumn Rose looks to me like your Christmas quilt, I really like it! 2014 will be my year to tackle scraps & fmq. I'm sure I will be going to you for advise!
This looks fabulous.
ReplyDeleteGreat finishes. I find the more I do fmq, the more I want to do it. I like the way the pattern moves around on the gingham hexies. Please post that stringy coin quilt on the string blog!
ReplyDeleteYour quilts look great!
ReplyDeleteDid you come home with a sweater?
Oh wow look at how your FMQ is improving, it looks nice and smooth with regular stitch size....nicely done. I have got to practice some more!
ReplyDeleteHave you heard of ugly Christmas sweater parties? Everyone finds the ugliest sweater ( used)they can find and mismatches is with more ugly clothes then get together and party. Lots of pictures are a must!!!
Happy Sewing and Have a blessed Thanksgiving
Gosh, I am very impressed with the FMQ on the coins quilt! It looks great. Excellent work all around!
ReplyDeletecute, congrats! hope you're having better luck thrifting these days than I am - I haven't found anything lately.
ReplyDeleteFunny free motion shapes. Good idea to use many different ones!

Lovely quilts! Your free motion is great--love the personality! Congrats on your finishes. That's got to feel so good.:)
ReplyDeleteLeeAnn, I was just thinking of your hexagon quilt. Just came across a dress with large print and thought of may be making one. I love both your finishes. Your machine quilting looks beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAaah... the display at the thrift store - I hope you got some good stuff for new quilts.
Both quilts are marvelous! I love the scrappy coins. The Christmas sweaters - ha ha. I think I wore one of those when I taught fourth grade!
ReplyDeleteUgh! The sweaters! Your quilts are so unique and appealing as usual. Your quilting on the Hexi one is very good. I really need to get with it and practice FMQ more
ReplyDeleteBoth finishes are fantastic! Your free motion "entertainment" is inspiring. One of the things I miss about living in the USA is the theme sweater habit:)
ReplyDeleteI love how you repurpose things into such amazing creations, and your stacked coins is no exception. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI saw a similar display at the Goodwill a couple weekends ago. A year ago I was selling these on eBay, but now the local thrifts have gotten the memo and set them aside until the holiday season. Fine with me, as I'm happy not to have that distraction this year!
You been busy...havin' fun! I simply must learn to FMQ one of these days. I love the variety of designs you are creating.
ReplyDeleteThanksgiving thoughts of you and yours...
Your quilts & the quilting are looking fabulous! I might even be inspired to start quilting some of my own. :) Or maybe not.
ReplyDeleteOh, that Value Village photo is hard to look at. :o
Lovely finishes! Your selection of FMQ fillers is a lot of fun, and the feathers are most impressive! Great work. Finding the right quilting for a quilt can be challenging, love the playfulness of these.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
; )
luv that brilliant rusty border on the autumn rose and am totally luving the scrappy coins!
ReplyDeletewow!
you have been busy> I really like the hexagon quilt, bindng and everything.
ReplyDeleteMy son-in-law will be looking for one of those sweaters to show up in the local thrift shop so he can buy it for next year's Ugly Christmas Sweater Party!! Love your quilts...as always!Happy Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteThe free motion quilting is great fun. I love the effort you went to in making different designs. Looks very professional. Now tell me seriously - did they sell any of those sweaters?
ReplyDeleteYou are so prolific, it blows me away!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stitching. As always, Bravo!
