The Sisters Quilt Show has a block contest every year. They send you some fabrics and you make a block. You can only use the fabrics they supply. Here are the fabrics they sent.
Since I just took the 19th Century applique class with Gwen Marston, I decided to cut out some paper and design an applique.
Here's what I'll be sending off today. I don't expect to win, but I had fun!

It's wonderful! I love what you see when you look at fabric- you see things so differently than I do. That's why I love blogging, getting to see other people's creative genius.
It's great. I was going to say I love your fabric choice, but you didn't have much option LOL!
You did a GREAT job! When I saw the fabrics, I thought "oh dear, that will be hard". But your block turned out so cool!
Nice work! It looks like you choose the fabrics just for this block!
I would vote for yours as a winner! I love combining traditional patterns with today's contemporary fabrics. After all, isn't that what the quilters in the 19th century were using...their contemporary fabrics??
dibs on your scraps! i think it is interesting that we tend to think in terms of what we are working on. i was those prints and thought applique, they would work well into pieced blocks too. cw
It's a winner in my book. Great job.
I like what you did with the fabrics!
Looks like a winner to me!
Nicely done.....and enjoying the journey is the name of the game :0).
Happy sewing

Wow, gorgeous block, I hope you win! xo
You may not expect to win, but I wouldn't be surprised if you did!
It is fabulous! I don't see why you can't win, it is beautiful!
