Spring Shoots

My sister-in-law, Bonnie, and I are collaborating on this quilt. Last night I received her blocks and stuck them up on the wall with mine, completely randomly. We're going to make a few more rows, and there will be more orange stems. But the combination of her blocks and mine was so exciting, I just couldn't wait to show it. We're using the pattern from Applique Outside the Lines by Becky Goldsmith and Linda Jenkins.

Happy Mother's Day weekend! Hope you get lots of time to enjoy your family and sew.

Such a nice project to work with the sis-in-law! I love the idea of orange stems. So much to see... red and orange leaves, stems and variety of back ground fabrics.. Gorgeous!
Have a great weekend!

The combination is really working. I think it's so good because it's coming from two different people so the colours are fresher. You may need to make two of these or else give it away!

what a fun partner project. your blocks look great together.
I thought that was a great freeing book that the ladies put out - hopefully will inspire more people to work more freely ;)

How cool that you and your SIL both love to quilt! I love what you've got going so far - very fun and full of life! I usually just piece - maybe I should try applique?!

I want to make a quilt with my sister! Unfortunately, she's a knitter, not a quilter, but I'm working on expanding her repertoire...
