I spent the week working on a "little challenge" over at 15 minutes play.
Victoria sent a 12" square of the floral and plaid fabric, and asked us to make something "small."
So here's what happened on my design wall last week. It became an obsession!
Done!
"Obsession" 61 x 61"

Very nice. Thanks for giving us a peek inside the auditioning process.
That was so fun to watch your process. Love the finished product!
ditto on the process. I like how you used that challenge fabric to offset the brights. Most of the others used it as a focal point, but I really like how that brownish red plays off the brights.
Love watching the process.
I HAVE to explore this method!
(so much for small) :-)
So lovely! I enjoy seeing the process. Isn't that the most fun?
Wow... love seeing the progression photos of this wonderful piece! It really rocks! Love it!
So fun. There is so much going on but it totally works!
Fantastic (as usual)!!!
Wow, that was a lot of work. Nice job!
Excellent final choices! Fun to watch the evolution ... thanks for sharing it with us!!
Oh I love a good medallion quilt...is that little pink check from some of your old clothes?
Nicely done :0)!
Merry Christmas and Happy Sewing
Love your "small" project. It was wonderful to see your design process.
I love seeing the audition process! And the finished quilt turned out great--so many colors I wouldn't have thought of/dared. Nice job!!!
So much fun getting a glimpse into your working process! You always inspire me to think 'bolder' and step out of my little tiny box when it comes to buying fabric! Love what you ended up with. Truly a fun looking quilt.:)
you are so bold! thanks for taking us along on that trip!
Brilliant!!! I love that you took us through your journey of decisions. Wonderful choices!
LOVE IT!
Fabulous! Thanks for sharing the process!
Love this. Glad you kept working your way through - that was so much fun to follow. I never remember to keep my camera handy until it is too late... Something to learn. Thanks, "Teach!". (Smile) - Kathy
Love the process and even more that you stopped at the dots and floral that I said "Ahhh" to!
Love this thanks for showing your steps to a great finish. I think that if you have more of your last border print you could start another challenge.
I love it Nifty, and like others, I loved seeing the process you went through to arrive at the gorgeous finish! Wonderful. xo
So fun to watch your different options! Love all the angles in your made fabric and the medallion - great combination. The colors are warm and inviting... Congratulation on a lovely challenge top!
; )
Small? Unless you give me actual size limits I would have done the same! Turning a fat quarter into a beautiful, fun, small 61 x61 piece is fantastic!
Thank you for sharing this process photographically. Glad to know others out there work this way.
There could not be a better obsession than that!! Great job...
Fantastic! You are so creative!
Ta-Da! love your interpretation of something small. What fun!
I'm dizzy just following your progression...but in a good kind of way!
What an awesome accomplishment! Wow!
Would I ever try something like that? Perhaps, but not any time soon. I'll just stop by and admire yours!
Wow! The colors are amazing. You've got a talent for putting things together, that's for sure.
U inspire me!!!!!!!
So fun to watch! Thanks for sharing!
I absolutely LOVE making blocks like this and it looks like you had a great time with it too. The plaid-floral is great next to the pieced block.
Fantastic!!!
It wis not so simple to create blocks as you did with such different fabrics....really a great work, thanks for sharing!
Love watching you design - this is when blogging is the next best thing to being there!! Great job.
Such a great job with this! You have an amazing way of piecing any color and print. I adore your bravery, and the results are spectacular!
