"Garnet Hill" 68" x 52"
The making of this started over three years ago.
The inspiration came five years earlier,
when I tore out a photo of a rug in a Garnet Hill catalogue.
I liked the folk art feel of the rug.
It was fun choosing fabrics for these blocks,
I appliqued the flowers for about a year, off and on.
When quilting time came, I thought I'd do it quickly, just outlining the flower edges,
And the seams in the log cabin blocks.

It was well worth the extra time and effort - stunning and absolutely wonderful!
This quilt would deserve a price. It's a real "chef d'oeuvre" LeeAnn, and hand quilted! I have no words to say my admiration, It looks wonderful on you sofa!
gorgeous. that extra quilting makes it. lovely lovely quilt. congrats!
I love the bright, vibrant colors. They are gorgeous!
I remember that we "discussed" your inspiration for this quilt because I have a small photo of a hooked rug that looked so similar. Surprisingly, it's not the same rug you posted today. The photo I have is of a rug in greys, tans, and neutrals.
I always think it's interesting how inspiration comes to us and how many people can have the same source of inspiration but the results look so very different.
I would feel very pleased with myself if I'd made a quilt as beautiful as this one.
Love seeing the hand-stitching close-up. What a labor of love!
I hope to see this in person sometime soon!
It's gorgeous!
Most wonderful!!!! Love the color and all the quilting is spectacular.

I've watched as you've shared glimpses of this project and the final result is worth every single stitch you put into it, LeeAnn. It's gorgeous! I loved the rug when my GH catalog arrived and I love your quilt even more.
It's wonderful. And even better than finished is that you took the idea from a photo and made it yours.
