I was at the beach last weekend, and used the opportunity to photograph my recent finish.
This quilt was started over three years ago!
Most of the quilt is stitched in ivory perle 8--hard to see in the photo, but lovely up close.
The top row is stitched in red perle 8.
Here you can see the large Baptist Fan design from Barb's wonderful stencil.
The border is a table cloth I found in a thrift store in Norway several years ago.
The back is another thrift store find.
"Quadriga Aprinette?" According to Google, it means "five sided apron."
Some good reminders from the beach.

Absolutely in love with this quilt, so fresh, so personal and interesting! And the quilting, and the backing... OMG! Your pictures are wonderful, and yes, live simple... quilt simple!
I completely share Christine's feeling, this is a quilt that had to be ended! It is so improvisational, fully consistent and happily simple!
Wee! Love everything about this quilt. So glad that it was finished. I love the poppy red along with the mostly low volume prints.
The fan quilting looks super on this! It goes fast doesn't it? So fun to switch up the thread color at the top - thanks for the link.
The backing is a like a cherry on top - fabulous!!!
So beautiful. Love the vintage vibe. And that apron fabric is the best!
it's perfect--from the improv top to the Baptist fan and those wonderful aprons on the back! It's rare to find yardage of those cut and make projects -- usually I just find one panel of ugly Christmas stuff.
I am not a fan of red, but your color selection and quilt is wonderful! I love it!
I remember this quilt when you first posted about it and was enamored then, and now I love it even more. It really is a delightful quilt. I love how the red becomes a focal point across the quilt.
I was thinking this morning about a red and white quilt, probably different from this one. I noticed my stack of light fabrics with red background prints on them and was thinking I should do something with them. Unfortunately, they are all pieces and not scraps.
Congrats on another beauty!
Очень нравится. Браво!
This is such a beautiful quilt! Love the fabrics you've used and the liberated log cabin style. Smashing!!
Oh, my...I do love this quilt. It makes me want to put all my trillion UFOs aside and make a similar one...great job!!

What a beautiful finish - love the fresh look of this one and the gorgeous hand quilting!
Such a lovely quilt... great vintage-y fabrics & the colour combo of reds & low voloumes is a real favourite of mine ! Your hand quilting is a great way to finish it!
What a beautiful quilt! And so peaceful!
Love, love, love this quilt! Glad to see it finished and being well used.:)
I love this quilt , clapping happily !!
This quilt feels so beachy! I love the use of your subtler colors with the reds in the log cabin style - and how you kept the lightness in values and feeling throughout the quilt top. Those lovely hand quilted fans in red really add a lot. It really turned out great - border and backing included.
Congratulations on the fine finish. Looks like it loved posing for a photo in that lovely setting.
Beautiful quilt. I love the red accents throughout the quilt, even though at first look I thought peaceful. Wonderful quilt, and the back, so cute.
I love everything about this quilt. Perfection!
Your work continues to delight and inspire me!! When will we see a book of your own quilts? Your "gratitude" quilt inspired my "Be thankful" wall quilt. Your corduroy quilt makes me want to make one. Your string tulips, same! Now this! Thanks for sharing your work.
Absolutely gorgeous!!
Lots of fun. I do like your hand stitching, you are making me want to explore it.
Do you quilt in a frame or hoop?
Always intrigued by the provenance of your fabrics. Tabel cloths and printed kit aprons WOW! The quilt itself is a pleasing composition of neutrals with splashes of color.
Another wonderful quilt!! This looks so comfortable and friendly, it's the mix of calm fabrics with touches of warm red. I love the surprise on the back, and your wondeful quilting. I love that you did a row using Barb's fan stencil.
Ps, Wondeful photo shoot too!!
I just love this quilt, it makes me want to snuggle up under it. The red is just wonderful on the front and back and I love baptist fan quilting.
All those plaids and stripes. Love it! The plaids aren't easy to find anymore.
Oh gosh, I love it. You did a gorgous job.
Oh, look! Haystack Rock! One of my favorite beaches ever.
You're rock the low volume look! Great staging with the signs. I love that you incorporated a couple of fabric finds - what fun all the way around!
I do so love that quilt. What a perfect finish!!!!!!
Lovely quilt! I also love thrift shops to buy fabric. It makes the quilt look real handmade, patchwork the way it used to be. I prefer this above the ones where you buy already matched-together fabrics.
Totally awesome quilt. Love it from the front to the back and everything in between.
Wonderful quilt! There's so many things I love about it: the seemingly effortless randomness in mixing the fabric, the fun and sober cheerfulness of the colours, the beautiful hand-quilting and the perfect backing. Your gorgeous landscape complement the quilt perfectly. Congratulations on a beautiful finish!
; )
Oh! I love those old 50's air prints, together with the thrift-found back. And those little fan stitches. Peacefully fresh.
So much to love about this quilt: red, limited color palette, improv log cabins, tablecloth border and the red apron backing. What a treasure you have made! Congratulations.
I love the zinger striped fabrics you incorporated, and great photo ops! How fun. I think I need her stencil!
Nice quilt. I like the red stitching on top. Isn't it fun to find places to use our thrift store finds!?!
Gorgeous! It has a timeless softness to it like it has been loved for many years in spite of its youth. Love the back. You find the most amazing things thrifting!
I agree with all of the above, beautiful quilt. I like your work, lots.
Ditto, Janie's comment. Always enjoy seeing the fabrics you find and making a good home for them all. And I just love those fans!
What a great quilt, love the colors and the red stitching. The back is so clever.
LOL, that backing is hysterical! I think I would get the giggles every time I saw it. :D
Love the colours, love the style, love that Scandinavian plaid!
Wow! This is quilt is just beautiful! Such a fun backing too.
What a lovely log cabin Quilt. The borer makes the quilt. Great fabric choice.
beautiful quilt. gorgeous quilting. yay!
What a lovely quilt. There's just something about it that draws me to it... I love the "here and there" touches of red with the more neutral colors of the rest of the quilt. The quilting is just perfect too!
