"Spare Parts" 86" x 86" |
It was quilted by the very talented Sharon Tucker.
I just love what she did with it!
Here's "Spare Parts" with me at the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show last weekend.
"Cowgirl Dreams" came too. And she sold!
It's the first time I've put a price tag on a quilt.
It makes me very happy to know that some cowgirl will be sleeping under it soon.
That's Mary Keasler from Tennessee with me.
Here's Mary with her fantastic "Sunday Best" quilt.
Besides the classes, quilts and fun quilt-makers at "Quilter's Affair" in Sisters,
the best thing about it is the community involvement.
It appears that EVERYONE comes out to help.
Even the fire fighters help hang the show quilts early in the morning.
Sunday morning, after a week of classes and the Saturday show,
the friendly people were still working.
This is what I saw when I picked up my quilt--
and these are only SOME of the many beauties we saw in the show!
WOW! What a stunning quilt - such vibrant and lively colours! Congratulations on its showing! It really glows!
ReplyDeleteAmazing quilt - love it, so vibrant and full of life!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your beautiful finish. Love the colors and details. The plaid vines, string pieced leaves, red background. I like your single fabric narrow borders, too.
ReplyDeleteI'm delighted so many people have seen it in person.
Wow! What a nifty quilt! I wish I could see it in person!
ReplyDeleteI saw your quilt at the show and recognized it right away - would have been so fun to meet you in person!
ReplyDeleteHow FUN!! And how wonderful to see such happy faces on you and on Mary -- congrats to both of you for sharing your quilts at Sisters.
ReplyDeleteWow! What a marvelous, joyous riot of color and design! And your quilter obviously felt your happy energy and did a fabulous job enhancing your design. I went back and reread the post with your design process, love seeing how you went from A to B, making such great choices. The designing is the most fun for me! Seeing all of the fun at the Sisters show, makes me add it to my bucket list! Thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteI love your spare parts quilt! And I was at the Sister's show but I don't remember seeing it, grrrr. But then there are about 800- to 100 quilts to see there and I confess I did not get all the way round the show. Anyway it's great! I do remember your cowgirls quilt, it's very cute, congrates on the sale!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you sold your Cowgirl star, they will cherish it. You look so happy with Mary, what a great photo. It was so fun to quilt this piece and I'm glad it got to be shown off at Sisters, it's such a vibrant quilt.

ReplyDeleteThe Cowgirl is gone to dream in another home, that is nice news! She will be cherished.
Incredible! I spent one or even two hours yesterday at Mary's blog, discovering her style. My favorite quilt from her is... Sunday Best, because of its link with the Gee's Bend style, because of its colors, because of its flowers... Just because I love it actually!
congrats on your quilt sale - Sisters looks like so much fun. It is on my list to do one year.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt looks fabulous quilted. It is so dynamic
That quilt is amazing! It must have been quite a challenge to figure out what it needed where.
ReplyDeleteSpare Parts is so wonderful!! Sisters is on my bucket list when we retire. Florida is a long way!!

ReplyDeleteSpare Parts is such an amazing quilt. I love the quilting Sharon has added. It's so fun to see photos of you at Sisters. Congratulations on Cowgirl dreams selling. How special to know its off to a loving home. The logistics of such a big quilt show, hung outside for one day blows my mind. It's a testament to all the people who contribute to making it happen.
ReplyDeleteFantastic quilt! How nice to be able to go to quilt shows and have your quilts shown. I have to go abroad, because in Greece, there are still very little shows.
