Template Fun

It was HOT this weekend, so I stayed in and made this crib quilt top for a friend's granddaughter.

"Jacks" 36" x 48"

I used this template, which I'd bought a few years ago.

Funny how those things pop up at just the right moment!

Another blogger friend was using that template. She said it was very easy to use. Great colour choices for one lucky baby.

The quilt blocks made me think of windmills, or fans - very appropriate to work on in warmer weather!
; )

Love the happy colors, it will make a great gift!

this is so fun. I have a windmill template from the same company. I made a baby quilt in solids so I didn't have to worry about left and right parts. how did you do this one? on a design wall?

Eye candy... lucky baby. The reds make the top.

That is just darling. I've seen this pattern before and been indifferent to it but I love the colours that you've used.

This is sooo cute! And I can't believe using "template" and "fun" in the same phrase, but in this case it's true! haha - actually think I'd like to try this one. Got some baby quilts to make this year! Have a great 4th!

Perfect, lovely design and great colors....another winner :0)
Do you have to use a design wall to get these blocks to make their pinwheels?

Happy Sewing

Is that Pat Yamin's template? I have a drawer full of her one-patch templates, but am missing that one. Need to get it! It tesselates!

Love. It.

I have made that pattern a number of times and it really needs a design wall to keep it in order. I made my own template (of course I mark and cut by hand) but it puts all four sections out of a single square piece.

Very nice those green/ turquoise like colours with the orangy ones. They look randaom placed but it must be a lot more work to make pairs.
