It's hard to believe it's been just three years since I started blogging with this photo.
It shows my quilting room made into a "recording studio" for my son's band.
They had the brilliant idea of using quilts on the walls and windows for sound quality.
Since then, my son has moved out and left the remnants of his childhood.
I decided I needed the room for guests and the closets for my supplies, so...
A bit of sorting...
A load to the Goodwill, and...
Wa-la!
Plus an extra closet just for my quilts.
Some curtains,
A few quilts,
And I'm ready to host a quilty friend from Norway!

Wow! Looks like a magazine photo-spread. Well done. Especially like the curtains.
The picture of the sewing area and band equipment....too funny! Your new guest room a delight. Our daughter came home a few times so I never could take over her room with assurance I could leave it that way.
I can I come visit? Lovely. Like the pin wheel quilt on the bed.
I would like to book a night in your quilty quest room!
Happy Blogaversery!!
lovely
Beautiful! (And I love the Virgin de Guadalupe quilt on the wall!)
Lovely guest room! Looks like from a decor magazine photoshoot! A closet for quilts is wonderful too. (I took over part of my daughter's closet when she left--it was nice to have some breathing room for all my UFO's)
I'm with Barb, can I make a reservation?
Yeah the shrine to the kids have got to go and no need to let them think they can come back :0) Onward and forward thinking into adulthood!
Nicely done, the room looks so inviting, and of course they'll be room for her in the sewing room too :0)
Happy Sewing
Great transformation!
Happy New Chapter! What a wonderful way to refeather that empty nest! Sounds like you have a waiting list already. Is it to late to sign up?
Great job MOM! Lovely, lovely room!
That was a lot of work! It came out beautifully; what a lovely welcoming space!
Your guest room looks very warm and inviting, love the quilts on the bed.
Great transformation! I'm sure your guest will have sweet dreams in your lovely guest room! (and now I want to go home and clean my closets!)
Ahhh, love your sunny yellow curtains! The bedroom looks amazing and very, very inviting. Congrats on 3 yrs. of blogging--you have certainly been an inspiration to me!
Isn't wonderful to sort and get rid of so much!?!! It feels so great to have everything organized, (until of course it gets messy again. hehe.)
Love all the quilts in your "new" room. Lucky guests.
What a transformation! Your guest will never leave. I hope your son was appreciative of the artistry of his sound insulation. Your quilts are much more beautiful than the empty egg cartons my husband had glued to the wall to muffle sound when we met!
Wowee, you don't muck around!! What a wonderful change you have made, I love it. And those curtains, wow, and those quilts, yumee! Absoutely wonderful and congrats on three years. xo
Ahhhhh just beautiful, and very inspiring.

Happy Anniversary in the blogosphere!
What a difference from recording studio to guest room! It's so warm and cozy now! Every guest to stay there will feel so welcome & loved.
What a lovely room! Very warm and inviting.
You give me HOPE! My son moved out 2 years ago and 'his' room continues to be a mess. GOODWILL here I come!
Nice transformation!!
What a perfect nest to welcome guests - wise move. Happy Anniversary!
Phew! Nothing like a visitor to get the ball rolling and some major cleaning done. The room looks fabulous. I hope your son doesn't come home one day and ask for his missing game of Pictionary!
Fabulous room! must feel great to clean up!
I love seeing how bedrooms look with quilts on the bed. beautiful!
How pretty! I'm only getting 'part' of my son's room to turn into my quilting room. He's supposed to pack up most of what is left over Christmas (like that's going to happen).
looks very inviting. I like the stars and pinwheels on the bed, although I'd really like to see some of those quilts in the closet too!
made me smile, love the quilts on the bed!
especially the yellow and white one. the stars and pinwheels on the bed is fun would love to see a full shot of that one! when did you make it!
would love to stay in this room too!
have fun with your friend

Sure looks different than when I was there in June. No more spaceships. It was comfy then and feels like home now.
I imagine it was a bit of a heart tug, cleaning out his room, but it always feels so good once things have moved on to a useful life with someone new to love them. And very good for you to ge to spread out -- looks like a lovely space!
Hi LeeAnn,
I remember that picture very well! Can't believe it has been three years already! And, your quilts! They are spectacular in that closet and on the bed. Today is my first day back at reading blogs. And as usual, your post does not disappoint. I am not only inspired to sew but to clean and make changes. May be too soon to get rid of Kavita's stuff but there is plenty I could take to the Goodwill.
Love those curtains too. The whole room looks so warm and inviting!
xoxo
