Flying Plaids is Quilted!

I've been quilting this puppy off and on all summer.

Wish I'd used brown thread for the back.  Oh well.

I got pretty good at this design.

I made the top last summer, all out of thrift store shirt plaids.

Yahoo!

I'm celebrating with a new toy, recommended by Kathy Doughty.

Very fun!

Great finish! That is a lot of feather stitching, well done!! And I'm loving the hexie design too. Love how you create your quilts, they have such a free and fun feeling. I tend to ponder my choices much longer - but I'm finally finishing up a quilt that's been too long on the design wall. Thanks for the inspiration!

Just love the plaid geese quilt ... and the white quilting even though you wish it were brown on the back ... and the green hexagon in progress. Gosh, seems like there's nothing you do that I don't love!

Congratulations on a lovely finish! So vibrant and fun, love the playfulness and the colors... and your quilting. Another favorite quilt of mine from you.
Fun to see your big green hexagons tumbling around. Will you be sewing them by machine? I might need to try that, myself. Big hexagons...
; )

OMG, Flying Plaids is fabulous!! How wonderful to have it finished so you can use it and admire all those fun fabrics and gorgeous quilting. I love the photo where it's laid over the couch with the beautiful quilt on the wall and the yo-yo cushion!! Your hexies are brilliant too. There's just so much goodness in this post!!

It is just perfect; the colour, the movement, the no-border layout!

I think the white thread was a good choice. If you are going to all the trouble of quilting something with so much detail you may as well show it off. How well did it all work out? Bet those shirts are happy that you bought them home.
